PARKING

The ASICS Susquehanna River Running Festival presented by UMMS is a community event bringing together runners and walkers from all over the east coast. We are fortunate to host this charitable race in Havre de Grace and Perryville, and strive to reduce the race’s impact on local residents by providing guidance on where (and where not) to park on race day.

Parking for ALL races (Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K) takes place in Havre de Grace, MD. There is ample street parking and nearby lots to accommodate all participants and spectators. 10K runners will take a race shuttle to the 10K start in Perryville - there is no race parking at the 10K start.

KEY REMINDERS

  • Never park on grass or block residential or business driveways

  • Do not park in ANY marina lots, including the Havre de Grace Basin Marina adjacent to Tydings Park

  • Leave No Trace. Take any trash with you when you leave.

STAR Centre - (Large parking lot not visible on Google Maps) .8mi from Tydings Park (16 min walk)

Street Parking

Many East/West Streets in Havre de Grace are wide enough to support parking on both sides without impeding travel lanes. Please keep in mind that most of roads listed below are residential streets - do not block driveways or park on grass. Streets that are suitable for parking include:

  • Giles Street (between Alleghany St & Union Ave)

  • Lafayette Street

  • Alliance Street

  • Lewis Street

  • Girard Street

  • Fountain Street

  • Bourbon Street

  • Congress Avenue

  • Pennington Avenue

Few North/South streets in Havre de Grace are wide enough for parking without impeding travel, or are not on the race route. These streets include:

  • South Adams Street

  • South Stokes Street


Prohibited Parking Areas

The following areas are NOT suitable race parking locations and should be avoided:

  • Any areas with posted “No Parking” signage

  • All boat launch/marina lots

  • All roads on the race course, particularly Union Avenue, St. John Street, Market Street, and Commerce Street

  • Any residential street not wide enough to support parking without impeding two-way vehicle traffic (All “Lanes” and many North/South streets)
